L4D1 has more action packed, the characters has sort of bruises,scratches,scar marks as an evidence that they are fighting zombies for a long time. In L4D2 their just like out in a mall..
In L4D1 the characters don't or can't use a melee weapon but no cooldown in shoving(zombies are stunned when hit)the zombies. In L4D2 every time you use 10 consecutive shoving, the 11th one will become more slower..
L4D2 has more fun, you can kill a zombie using baseball bat,cricket bat,crowbar,frying pan,golf club,guitar or maybe slashed by a sword,machete or worse cutting 7 in half using chainsaw. :)
@Mike: What the... All i know is that you can use melee weapon sword, fighting with dragons? there are no dragons in L4D2 maybe there is one(not a dragon figure but a zombie)it doesn't spit fire but spits goo, and about the diet coke or cola we'll I know that part. Risking your life just to get his damn cola.

In Left 4 Dead 2, I can use swords, fight with dragons, even drinking diet cokes and stuff.. Enjoying the zombie apocalypse...
